Project overview
Ponderosa Hands4Hope Club is holding a drive called “Project Prom” where we are collecting formal wear such as dresses, ties, shoes, slacks and button down shirts. These items will then be given to ASPIREKids, a local nonprofit, to fill the Prom Closet they are starting through their ASPIRE Outfitters program.
Collections begin Tuesday, February 20th and will run through March 1st. There will be a blue Hands4Hope collection bin located in the Ponderosa High front office for donations. If you are a Ponderosa student and bring your donations to the table located in front of the office between 8:00 and 8:20 throughout the duration of the drive, a Hands4Hope Club participant will take your donation and you will be entered into a drawing for a free Sadies Dance ticket.
If you are unable to donate formal wear but would like to still contribute to the project, you can make a monetary donation.
HELP US ACHIEVE OUR GOAL OF COLLECTING 150 FORMAL WEAR ITEMS
"The cost of prom and other formal dances; tickets, dresses, suits, tuxes, shoes and accessories, can make it impossible for some students to participate. A successful formal wear drive will allow ASPIREKids to remove the cost barrier to prom. And with the help of the Hands4Hope ASPIRE Outfitters Committee and other local volunteer groups, we will set-up Prom Boutique shopping experiences at local high schools. Students can find something they love to wear to prom at no cost to them and build lasting memories to take with them for years to come."
